North Lincs IAPT offer treatment delivered in a group setting via our CBT skills course.
The CBT skills course is a low intensity psychological intervention delivered by psychological wellbeing practitioners. The course is made up of 6 sessions which aim to teach you skills and techniques to manage symptoms of stress, low mood and anxiety. Each session lasts 90 minutes and is at the same time and day each week.
Each session focusses on a particular subject related to symptoms of low mood, anxiety and stress. The sessions aim to provide information and education about your symptoms and teach you tools and techniques to manage and reduce them. North Lincs IAPT provide a detailed booklet of information and resources with each session, to help you put what you have learned into practice.
The course offers evidence based, guided self-help techniques which are based on principles of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). By teaching you tools and techniques, the course allows you to develop skills in managing your own symptoms.
